Airplane training with the goal of flying for pleasure or for personal business begins with the Single Engine Private Pilot Course. You can add additional courses, such as Instrument Pilot Training and Complex Aircraft Endorsement, to your basic pilot training to enhance safety and add capability.
Single Engine Private Pilot Course
- Minimum 40 hours of ground training
- Minimum 40 hours of airplane flight time (Cessna 172)
- Written exam
- Practical flight test by FAA Designee

- U.S. Citizenship or TSA pre-approval

Single Engine Instrument Pilot Course
- Minimum 30 hours of ground training
- Minimum 35 hours of instrument flight training
- Written exam
- Practical flight test by FAA Designee

- Private pilot certificate or higher
- 30+ hours of cross-country pilot in-command flight time
