How to Get Started
The DoD Office of Small Business Programs typically opens two cycles per year for Mentor-Protégé Agreements. The process involves:
-
Submission of a White Paper
-
Invitation to submit a proposal
-
Proposal submission
-
Contract award
Note: Mentor-Protégé teams must also include support of a Historically Black College or University (HBCU).
The awarded agreement is a two-year contract that includes dedicated funding to support the partnership and its goals.

-
Expand their role in the defense industry
The DoD Mentor-Protégé
Program at S³
At S³, we understand the unique challenges small businesses face — because we’ve been there. As a former small business ourselves, we know what it takes to grow into a successful defense contractor.
In 2016, S³ became an approved Mentor in the Department of Defense Mentor-Protégé Program, helping small businesses build the skills and capabilities needed to compete for prime and subcontracting opportunities.

Guiding the Next Generation
of DoD Partners
Through the DoD Mentor-Protégé Program, S³ helps small businesses grow into capable, competitive defense contractors — strengthening our industry, our partners, and our mission.
