How to Get Started

The DoD Office of Small Business Programs typically opens two cycles per year for Mentor-Protégé Agreements. The process involves:
 

  1. Submission of a White Paper

  2. Invitation to submit a proposal

  3. Proposal submission

  4. Contract award

 

Note: Mentor-Protégé teams must also include support of a Historically Black College or University (HBCU).


The awarded agreement is a two-year contract that includes dedicated funding to support the partnership and its goals.

  • Help establishing compliant and efficient business systems

What the Program Does

The DoD Mentor-Protégé Program connects experienced defense contractors (Mentors) with small businesses (Protégés) to:

  • Strengthen their ability to perform as DoD Prime contractors

  • Improve business systems and operations

  • Expand their role in the defense industry

In 2016, S³ became an approved Mentor in the Department of Defense Mentor-Protégé Program, helping small businesses build the skills and capabilities needed to compete for prime and subcontracting opportunities.
